Croí Íosa (Heart of Jesus) is a Catholic apostolate dedicated to promoting devotion to the Holy Eucharist through public Eucharistic processions across Ireland.
Our mission is to bring Jesus Christ, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, into the heart of our towns and cities, encouraging people of all ages to publicly witness to their faith and deepen their relationship with Our Lord.
Croí Íosa was born from a simple idea: why not bring Jesus into the streets once again?
Our first Eucharistic procession took place through Dublin City, beginning at St Peter's Church, Phibsborough, and processing through O'Connell Street to St Mary of the Angels Church. Led by Fr. Brendan Kealy and Fr. Fergal Cummins, around 1,000 people joined together in prayer, hymns, and joyful witness to the Real Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
Along the route, many onlookers paused, blessed themselves, knelt in prayer, or simply stood in respectful silence as the Blessed Sacrament passed by.
Afterwards, one question was asked again and again:
"When can we do this again?"
That question became the inspiration behind Croí Íosa.
Since then, the movement has continued to grow with Eucharistic processions taking place in Dublin, Athlone, and other parts of Ireland.
We are blessed to have faithful priests, musicians, families, prayer groups, volunteers, and young people who generously give their time to help organise each procession. Every event is an opportunity to publicly proclaim that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist and that the Catholic faith is alive in Ireland.
Our hope is to see Eucharistic processions become a regular expression of Catholic faith throughout Ireland.
By bringing Christ into our streets, we seek to inspire prayer, strengthen parish communities, encourage young people in their faith, and invite everyone to encounter the peace and joy found in Jesus Christ.
Whether you are joining us for the first time or have walked with us from the beginning, you are warmly invited to be part of this growing mission.
Participating in the Eucharistic Procession allows individuals and families to deepen their faith through communal worship.
Our procession brings together diverse parish groups, creating bonds of fellowship and support among attendees.
We aim to preserve and celebrate our rich Catholic traditions while making them accessible to future generations.
